INTRO

Skincredible is an app that enable Sephora's Beauty Advisors to give skin consultation services. Through a series of questions to learn about the customer's profile, following it up by a skin scan using dermatologist-grade skin analysis device, Skincredible analyses these data to generates a skin health score and recommends a set of unique customised skincare regime.

For this project, we facilitated the integration of Skincredible back into Sephora's ecosystem. The work involved includes updating a dated UI with Sephora's design language, optimising/fix existing flow and usability issues, improving the information architecture and finally incorporating additional features to provide a seamless omnichannel commerce experience for the customers.

AUDITING AND ENHANCING EXISTING BUILD

The project was kickstarted with an initial audit of current screens and flow, cross referencing with Skincredible from other regions such as Europe and USA.

Information architecture was revamped to remove redundancies, along with a rework of the questionnaire to ask more relevant and value-adding questions.

​

Usability issues from poor UI implementation were ironed out. At the same time, the look and feel was refreshed to be more in line with Sephora brand guidelines.

​

New features, as such the ability to create a skincare routine list, were introduced after solutioning on the problem space based on business requirements.

​

The result of this new look Skincredible can be found below.

SET UP

To begin, selection of country and store configures the product catalogue in which Skincredible will make the recommendations from. This is followed up by pairing of the scanner, a skin analysis device attached to the phone to take skin scans.

On the homepage, the customer will need to give consent to the T&Cs before proceeding with the consultation.

QUESTIONNAIRE

For the first part of the consultation, the customer will answer a series of questions with regards to their profile, lifestyle, skin and brand preferences. This will assist the beauty advisors and Skincredible in making better personalised product recommendations.

SKIN SCAN

After the questionnaire, scans are carried out on the forehead, cheek and outer eye area. Holding the scanner onto the skin will automatically capture it for analysis. The customer can also take additional scans for each area of the skin to obtain a more accurate result.

SKIN ANALYSIS

At the end of the scan, the skin analysis is generated. The customer will be able to see what is their skin-type and how they fare across the 4 main pillars of skin health - hydration, lines, pores and oil. They are also able to compare their skin with a reference image to get a visual representation of their skin health.

At this point of the flow, the bottom navigation is made available to the customer to either build a skincare regime or view their full report.

BUILD A ROUTINE

A newly added feature to the build - "Build A Routine" page generate personalised product recommendations based on the skin analysis result. The beauty advisor will, according to the customer's skincare routine, select products to be added to a list for their reference.

FULL REPORT

In the "Full Report" page, the skin analysis result and routine list is aggregated here.  The report is considered completed when both parts are filled in. The customer will then send the report to themselves, ending the user journey.

EMAIL REPORT

Customer details such as their name and email is required in order to send the full report. This allows us to keep track of the number of users using this service, as well as keeping a record to cross reference when the customer comes back in the future for another skin consultation. Existing member of Sephora Beauty Pass will also find this report when they log in to Sephora.
